IPadOS 16 introduced new productivity features that enable the creation of more compelling collaboration experiences and intuitive apps, as well as powerful pro workflows on iPad. Previously released features as part of iOS 16 include Live Activities – allowing users to stay informed about real-time updates within your app, directly from the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island – App Intents, and upgrades to MapKit, ARKit, Core ML, and more.
IOS 16.4 packs new features including dozens of new emojis, notifications for web apps, voice isolation for cellular calls, improved VoiceOver support, optimisations for the ‘Crash Detection’ feature to prevent false emergency service calls, and support for 5G Standalone. Apple also “highly recommends” developers update their apps to take advantage of the latest features available with iOS 16 and iPadOS 16.
